Pastor Quincy Koll serves Christ the Cornerstone while also shepherding Mount Olive Lutheran Church and Preschool in Poway. After graduating from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis Pastor Koll moved to San Diego with his wife Courtney to begin serving our two congregations in the area. Their family has come to love the people and community here, and they look forward to serving for many years to come.
Supporting Christian Education
At Christ the Cornerstone, we believe that Christian education is an important part of forming strong faith and strong character. That is why our church partners closely with Christ the Cornerstone Academy, providing a Christ-centered learning environment for children in the San Diego community.
In a Lutheran school, students grow academically while also learning about God’s love for them in Jesus. Faith is woven into every subject, helping students understand the world through the truth of Scripture. Our church supports Christian education because we believe the next generation should know both God’s Word and the joy of living as His children.
Our Mission
The mission of Christ the Cornerstone Lutheran Church is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serve our community with His love. As a congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, we are committed to teaching the Bible clearly and faithfully.
Through worship, teaching, service, and outreach, we seek to share the good news that Jesus died and rose again for the forgiveness of sins. Our goal is to strengthen believers in their faith while welcoming new people to hear the life-giving message of the Gospel.
Traditional Lutheran Worship
Our worship services follow the historic liturgy of the Christian Church, rooted in Scripture and shaped by centuries of Christian worship. Traditional Lutheran worship focuses on God’s Word, prayer, confession and forgiveness, and the celebration of Holy Communion.
Through Scripture readings, hymns, and the preaching of the Gospel, God serves His people with His grace. This rich tradition connects us not only with Christians today but also with believers throughout history who have gathered around the same promises of Christ.
